I say A3 when they bring the AWD version out. Until then the A4 for sure. I am biased as I've owned an Audi before and I just love them. They are not the best car by far but you'll never find the best car anyways.
The Audi styling seems to be much better than the others, the new grill is a love it or hate it and I love it. Put in AWD and some decent power with lots of potential and you've got yourself a winner even with the softer suspension compared to the others.
My 2 cents

You left out "none of the above".

I have to agree,
I personally don't like high end cars and the two Audi's you chose are more sporty looking cars then anything else. If I were to get a high end car I'd personally get the Volvo XC90 as it looks good, and its safe.
If anything if you are looking for a newer car I say go low end because there is more you can do to it, and they are far cheaper to insure, and there is more choices out there now then ever.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.

My problem is I don't know which ones have the autotragic tranny. Can't drive a stick, anything I get has to be slushbox.
Having said that, of the group I would likely pick the Lexus, if only because the reliability of the other three ewntries is suspect in comparison to it. I buy a car to drive it, not let it sit at the shop awaiting repairs :P

Heh, I was told the later model years were better and aside from the gas guage, no complaints here about shop time (and besides, the gas guage was a karmic thing. My dad lost the gas guage on his '67 Stang within six months of owning it from new, he just never bothered to fix it :P)

Listing the years would help. The only car I know in your list the year of is the A3.
I drive a 2010 Golf that growls at people when it goes over 3000rpm.
