I ended up picking up the alpine that i was looking for, and ended up talking with the alpine rep as he was visiting sudbury today. I baught alpines V Power series MRP-M350 amp. Pushes 350W RMS. So it should work awsome with my alpine type R 10" that peeks at 300 i think  . I'll let you guys know how it sounds

Can't go wrong with that...but you'll want a 2nd 10" in a month...I originally only wanted one 10, to save space and weight, but the shop said I was wasting my money, and would be back in a month wanting a dual sub setup...I only lasted about 3 weeks tops! lol!

Anyways, what type of enclosue are you going with? Ported for slam, or sealed for punchiness? Plz tell me you are staying away from Bandpass...had one in a previous hatchback...sounded horrible...

what ya mean? If you want some serious thump id recomend buying a more larger output amplifier and that little 10" will freakin rock. Alot of people think a single 10" isnt enough. You can seriously make a 10" sound sweet in the correct box and with a large amout of power. Im one who doesnt care for ratings. "If my single 10" sub max's @ 300rms, id prolly buy a 500rms @ 1ohm amp and put it in a tiny tuned slot ported box."

well, i finally got it all wired up and working, still haven't tuned the amp at all, it's still running with barely any power, but it's working awsome, i love it already, and still haven't gotten much kick to it. And if someone is wondering what i'm running, it's a 10" alpine type-r in a sealed box. I know go porter, that's next! lol..but i think i'm gonna be sticking with just one 10, cuase this things got spunk!

haha, the wagon has some issues with roof flex though. My buddy has 2x 12" clarion subs and a clarion 1000w amp...

the roof makes some retarded noises when it flexes. haha
