Winter Driving Pet Peeve
#21
I had to drive in to Toronto Friday night, what I couldn't believe was the number of people not adjusting their driving to suit the conditions. For a large portion of the trip the road was hard packed snow but in sections the snow had worn down to the pavement in the "ruts". Aside from the occasional jack a$$ most of us were treating the highway as a two lane road so we all had lots of room around us. Every few minutes though some idiot would come by, after seeing a set of white lines, still trying to follow the original lanes driving with two tires in the dry pavement rut and two on the hard pack snow. Like, !!!, I don’t need to explain to you guys why that's bad. We really need to adjust our driver training/testing system around here.

I hate people on a good day; I was ready to nuke the world after that drive!

Merry Christmas!! :)

^^ There is no winter driver training that is compulsory in Ontario, but it should be. You shouldn't be able to get your full G without taking lessons on how to drive correctly in the winter.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the entire licensing stream is CORRUPT and has been for years, ever since they decided that immigration was more important than road safety. People are shovelled through at ALL classes at alarming rates.

When you're "whitebread", you get harped on repeatedly because of the tester's frustration that they're not allowed to "screen" or fail certain types of folk.

Call me whatever you want. I saw it years ago, I've heard it's still happening to this day and it's likely not going away anytime soon.

Why else do these idiots overload vans and minivans beyond the seatbelt capacity? Fail to know how to recover from a skid? fail to leave enough space? Ignore red lights?

It's because they don't f***ing care and they were never made to care!
