so i picked up SVT snorkel and some foam for the top of the Volant and got some pretty good results....car runs much harder through RPM's and my filter finaly doesn't get warm or even hot any more(from header heat)= stays cool....cool air = better performance
1) here's my SVT snorkel
2)SVT compare to stock snorkel
3)take the battery cover off
4)take the battery out :)
5)take 2 front screws that hold the snorkel at the front
6)start taking the end of the snorkel out of Volant....it has a clip...don't break it ;)
7)when the stock one is out.....here it is beside the SVT snorkel
8)i didn't follow "myfordfocus.com" How To and just did it this way:
disconnected the end part of stock snorkel and hooked it up to SVT part.....used some serious electrcial ducktape all the way around....used 2 gear clamps and then used some regular electrical tape. You might say WOW this is so ghetoo!!! u got a better idea?? this work....and it hooks up directly to Volant
9)SVT snorkel is in the place
10)After everything is back together
11)here comes the cover foam, glued 2 pieced of velcro to the side of the foam which will be connected to the hood part (used Epoxy glue)
12)another 2 pieces of velcro get glued to the hood....this way u can take the foam part at the meets,g2g's,car shows and ect.
13)here's with the foam being on
yea its not the best looking....but yes it works
just gotta do some engine bay cleaning
