Transport Canada issues latest recalls
4-12-2007

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Volvo, Ford, Pontiac and Nissan vehicles, and some Sunshine Kids child seats.

2007 Volvo S60
2007 Volvo V70
2007 Volvo V70XC
2007 Volvo CX90
Vehicles affected: 22

On certain vehicles, the electric cooling fan control unit's metal cover may not have received the specific corrosion protection during the manufacturing process. Moisture ingress as a result of cover corrosion could lead to an electrical short that may initiate a fire. Dealers will replace the cooling fan.

2008 Ford F250, F350, F450, F550
Vehicles affected: 4,353

On certain trucks equipped with a 6.4-litre diesel engine, excessive temperatures in the diesel particulate filter may cause a visible flame out the tailpipe. Dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module.

2008 Ford F250, F350, F450, F550
Vehicles affected: 56

On certain trucks equipped with a 6.4-litre diesel engine, insufficient clearance between the positive battery cable and the right-hand splash shield bolt may result in wire chafing damage and the risk of an electrical short. If this occurs, possible heat or fire damage to the cable and/or other components may occur. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, reposition the positive battery cable.

2007 Pontiac G6
Vehicles affected: 21

On certain vehicles, incorrect airbag passenger sensor system calibration could cause the right front airbag to deploy when not needed. The system is designed to turn off the airbag when a child occupies the seating position, and if it misclassifies a child or child restraint seat as an adult, the frontal airbag would deploy in a crash, which could cause death or serious injury. Dealers will replace the passenger sensing system.

2004 Nissan Titan
Vehicles affected: 742

On certain Crew Cab vehicles, there may not be sufficient webbing on the retractor spool for the rear centre seatbelt to release from the automatic locking mode (ALR). To release the ALR function and return to emergency locking retractor mode (ELR), the seatbelt has to be spooled all the way back in. Should the seatbelt not switch back to ELR, it would be rendered unusable. Dealers will replace the seatbelt assembly.

2006-2007 Sunshine Kids Radian (C10600)
2006-2007 Sunshine Kids Radian Premier (C18500)

Vehicles affected: 7,464
On certain child seats, when used in the forward-facing position with the Safe-Stop load limiting device, the occupant can experience excursion that would exceed the required limit of 720 mm, and may receive increased injury during a crash. The correction is yet to be determined.

I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.
