Oh, oh man... BWAHAHAHAHAHHA!

Ford N.A. has really and truly left the Euro fans out in the cold on this one. So... I guess this means we definitely aren't getting the ST then eh?

Thats sad. Not sure if this means that the zx3/zx5 will be called escort hatch or whatever. Lets see how this turns out.....

I knew this would happen the 2 door pics that they released earlier looked more like the escort then the focus...............

I think Ford will be for sale sooner then everyone thinks.
I drive a 2010 Golf that growls at people when it goes over 3000rpm.

For 2008 the Focus, I mean Escort is only available in 2 door, and 4 door models.
The hatchback (zx3) is gone, the wagon is gone, as is the 5 door (zx5).

Ford is completely out out of touch.
There are trying to save money by 'simplifing' the number of vehicles in a product line. Nothing beats the first gen Focus.

Ford has completely lost me as a customer, there is nothing in the 2008 line up the interestes me in the slightest.

Focus, Cougar, Probe, all gone, all fun to drive spirited vehciles which Ford can't be bothered to make.
Yellow 2000 ZX3 - Tinted Windows, SVT Air Intake, MBRP Exhaust, NewEdge Performance 2.25" Flex Pipe, Focus Sport UDP, SVT Bumper, Ford Racing 9MM Wires, K&N Filter, XCal2 ECU Upgrade, Shorty Antenna, Ported Throttle Body
190,000 KM (120,000 Miles) and counting!

I liked my 98 Escort ZX2. The ZX2 is what inspired the first gen. Focus.
O3 ZX3: Drl-to-drf Mod, Racing mirrors, Shorty antenna, B&M short shifter, Focus Sport 4-1 race header, Focus Sport front strut stabilizer, MBRP cat back, RaceCraft springs, Eibach Pro dampners and struts, RaceCraft 25mm rear stabilizer, Hella lights, Core Racing 17"s.
VF Supercharger Kit (Stage 2)

"I usually don't do this type of work." "I thought you were a professional driver?" "A different kind of driving.".

No, they should call it Ion. If they spend that extra time on real engineering than name engineering(hint;ford its not the name, focus more on the product) B)

Maybe this whole Focus redesign they unveiled has really just been a hugely elaborate April fools joke they got an early start on? I'm hoping it's just a huge cruel joke to play on the Focus enthusiasts and then they'll start shipping next-gen European platform Focus's to dealerships with a big "APRIL FOOLS!!" sign on the window sticker.

To be honest, I'd rather see this new car called an escort than a focus. It looks more like the old escort than the current focus. Atleast this way the focus name isn't tarnished by this less than worthy successor.

it's what most Europeans on Auto-related fourms are already calling it, the new American Escort MK5

As an escort i can live with it. Mainly b/c i'm not expecting it to look like the focus we have or want. But if they call it a focus still, the car just doesn't work as a focus for me.

I couldn't agree with you more on that, mainly because Ford took away what made the Focus so great in the first place, Choices in Body styles, and trim levels that appealed to what people want in a car, and need in life without making a huge scarfice in the long run.

So does this mean the rims from my 95 escort would fit the Focort?
