Anyone Know How Much Hp...
#1
Hey all,

I'm still waiting on the release of MBRP's new 2.5" catback for my ST.
I just hope it won't be ridiculously priced!
Any hoo, here is what I plan on doing:

- MBRP 2.5" catback
- Cossie Header
- Cossie flex
- Steeda SRI
- BS delete

Would this be too "loud"??? I guess it's kinda hard to say since the exhaust isn't out yet.
I'm also guessing I would need an xcal2 to retune my ecu to remove the cel caused by the header and to take advantage of my new mods, right?
Is a high flow cat necessary?
TB?

Thanks for your input

It's going to scare small children and the elderly unless you put at least a high-flow cat in there.

I'd wager you're looking at +30-35WHP after a tune, and at least +20WHP before a tune. One thing I'd recommend is going to a full CAI for the 2.3L as it really needs to breathe. Check the FS intake page for dyno charts.

Otherwise, a tune and such and you're set.

Noisey... as in very ricey??? If so, I might abandon the header and flex.
High flow cat would be great, but so damn expensive.
Maybe I could get that before the header and flex, eh!
So, about 30WHP, thats not bad.
I wasn't gonna go with a header because it would be a waste with a turbo, but I have to be logical 'cause I have no idea if I'll ever get the $$$$ to get one!
My goal is to get about 170whp N/A.
After that, we'll see.
Btw, who here drive a turbo in the snow? Is it driveable?
This is my daily driver (15,000Km in 6 months already) so it has to be road worthy!

Thanks again

i had a 4-1 header, high flow cat and 2.5" exhaust it was indeed very loud. i ditched the header after a few months, but you might like it who knows.

you should look around for a generic high flow cat.. i got a 'catco' high flow cat with 2.5" inlet and outlet and got it welded into the exhaust for $125 total.. i never tried to pass smog with it though so i can't tell you how it works from that standpoint

Smog issues are not something for me to worry yet in QuÃÂbec Province, but it may one day...
I think I'll wait and see how the MBRP sounds and go from there.
