Well you guys gave me tons of great information about breeds, since I had already been doing lots of research looking in other directions was pretty easy. I latched onto the Aussi Shepard pretty quick it had everything I wanted. Finding a breeder was a bit hard but by chance we found one in Barrie who had just had a litter in January. All the dogs were taken but after chatting she offered us the dog that she was going to keep for her breeding and showing.
So meet Cooper.
8 Week.

10 Weeks.

Picture with Mom.
We pick him up on Friday night and start puppy school next Wednesday. Everything I guess you could say fell into place much sooner than I had expected. I didn't expect to get a dog until the summer but how could I say no to this little guy.
So hints tips etc on bringing a puppy home?
We have a large crate for him, a bunch of hard and soft toys two leashes a collar etc etc, the breeder gave us a list of everything we would need to get started.
Back to work so I can pay for this little guy.
I have a few cars.
One for my dog.
One that has no roof.
One that looks good parked at the golf course.
One that is being rebuilt by a guy named Nero..... will it ever be done?

Beautiful dog. IF you got the breeding stock dog, that's even better.
Did the breeder mention anything abt parvovirus or avoiding having your dog to public areas for 8 more weeks/until all vaccinations are completed.

Have the bordatella vaccene given (kennel cough) especially since he's going into training with other dogs.
Have a long lead as well as short lead. I like the long leads for wen I'm out in the garage, the pooch can join me.

Grab a bottle of pet stain remover and febreeze (It's a new house remember)
Also, socialize him with other dogs NOW.
I have a dog now that was never exposed to other dogs andis a complete wing-nut when other dogs are around.
cute as hell simon.

So where's my paycheck for opening the door to you on Aussies? :D Nice puppy. Toyz well they'll destroy everything so you'll pretty much be buying them all the time. Also try and set a routine for taking the puppy out to try and potty train him. Taking him out on a regular basis helps too. Or after getting up after laying down for a while stuff like that.

Beautiful looking dog, but how big is that one going to get? I like dogs myself but pnce they get past a certain height/weight, I have to be careful unless I want to get bowled over (Thank god the border collie my dad got for work was well trained for example, otherwise he'd be constantly running me over and sending me down the stairs to the basement ass over teakettle <_< )

watch out for puppy teeth when they fall out, they are sharp and hurt like hell when you step on them.
you can probably get him started with your routine, when you eat, he eats. then after he eats put him outside.
puppies are the best, makes me want to get another one.
