Car Died On Me On The Way Back Form Kingston
#1
Not sure why...well, I know why, no fuel, but whats failing is the question.

Car just decided to stop working on the 401 around 3:30 in the afternoon. Got home yesterday just before midnight.....yeah it was awsome. All that to pick up my new clutch and diff.

Anyways, I can hear the fuel pump turn on....Yesterday I thought we couldnt hear it but that was due to the traffic whipping by us on the 401. The thing is, the fuel pump doesnt turno off. As long as the key is in the 'On' position you can hear the fuel pump working. Ususally you turn the key to on and it turns on for a few seconds then turns off. You guys think its the fuel pump? Or should I be looking at somethign else, sending unit maybe?

Engine turns over, just no fuel coming to it. Jay and I chcked the lines...

Oh, and I already said a billion times but thanks again Jay for picking me and my friends up on the side of the highway. ;) :)

did you hit the little button in the passenger side kickpanel that kills the fuel flow!?

Check the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail. That puked on my SVT and it caused similar problems. Mine was full of fuel when i took off the vacuum hose the fuel just poured out. Check and see if there's fuel coming through the lines. If the pump id running maybe the hose from the pump fell of in the tank.

I know from talking to flo that he changes it every oil change....so thats not it. Could be something to do with the lines or the pump itseft.

No worries! ;)

Just don't use up all those flares the OPP gave you all at once ok? :)

So you got home THAT late? What the hell? Tow Truck was backed up? did you end up walking into the Casino with your clutch and your Diff?

Nate's funny, he leaves his car on the side of the 401, but takes his new clutch and diff with him into the KFC while waiting for his GF....LOL!! That was classic.

 Fawkin right. Its hard to take off a 4K turbo kit on the side of the 401 raining..... Not hard to smash windows and grab 1K of parts. ;)

Yeah, Andrea got to KFC about an hour later, we drove back and called for the tow truck. Took about 2 hours to get there.

I think both my freinds came up with 4 million "Found on road dead" type things for FORD while we were waiting.

Bastards

And dood, Beer is on me whenever you come down. I'll make sure we have to pump your stomach and s***. :P

I'm a dumbass.

I guess there is a plug that goes between the Fuel pump switch and the pump itself. My kick panel has been off since I put the chip in, and I guess one of my passengers kicked the switch off.

The service manager was pretty funny....well, not really

"Nate, I've got some bad news"

Im thinking blown head gasket

"Your a dumbass, thats the problem"

"You unplugged the wire, we plugged it back in and the car started up 1st shot."

:) :)

Well you must be happy that it wasn't an expensive fix. At the same time I'd be annoyed cuz it was such a stupid thing that caused the prob.
