Contack Mitch at ZX3Tuning and he can hook you up with Lamin-x

Or if you want something less permanent try some cling tint, it seems to be real popular with the guys on FF. I just don't know if/where it's carried up here, i know they get it from Walmart in the US

I gave you suggestions that can be easily removed....

the cling tint is applied with soap and water and easily removed when required

Lamin-x is a protectant film that i believe it is stuck down with some sort of adhesive and is more permanent, but can be removed.

VHT spray tint is permanent and unless you are an exelent painter could show runs and/or hi/low spots of uneven spray

And tinting your Headlights is illeagel..... so VHT spray tint is by far the cheapest way to go, but it could prove to be more costly in the long run

also why not try GTS or AVS headlight/taillight covers?

Is the past when i had the GTS headlight covers they always got bloody stolen , so the investment had hurt the pocket so to speak. although the permanent spray is alright as llong as i can go to a junk yard to find original ones to have to replace them if i sell the car. i think that part of the laws here are that if you have tinted headlights , you either have to untint them in the evening or have driving lights , which i have ., i will have to clarify that though

I dont really get why you'd want to tint your headlights, but if you're going to I would try cling film window tint first in the lightest shade you can get. That way it'll be easy to remove when you get pulled over and ticketed for it.. A lot of people use the spray tint stuff for blacking out taillights and signal lights, would be a good way to be able to control how dark you make it too. Only problem is that it's hard to remove and you have to be pretty good to get perfectly even coats with no runs.

If you guys are interested. I wrote an email to Lamin-x in regards to a problem us albertans have...

This is a shot in the dark of a question, but i wanted to find out if if
you make protective film for automotive windshields. The reason i ask, is
my Brand new car seems to be the target of flying stones. I already have 2
stone chips, and one gynormous crack, and the vehicle is less that a year
old. The area i live in has a large number of trucks, (pick ups mostly) and
i would like to try and stop damage to my future NEW windshield. Any Info
would be appreciated.

Sincerely

And thier response was....

Hello Jamie. Thank you for your inquiry and interest. We definitely have a
lot of demand for your exact request. We have tested a few products, but
none to our complete satisfaction. We have although found a liquid formula
of protection that has some positives for this situation. This may be of
interest to you and the cost is minimal.

What i am figureing is that if i use a light spray for the headlights and use ultrabright bulbes ii will offset the might smoke tint in the evening and the tailights well as long as they shine and the markers same thing.

i was able to find a place here somewhat locally 12 bucks a can and he is also looking into a headlight repair kit to try and smooth or be rid my headlights of the scratches.

unless anyone else has an idea for the scratches.

Basically why am i doing it ........for show

i saw a picture of one with the headlights lightly smoked and the tails darkend and the markers darkend and it look SEXY!!!

so i am gonna give it a go . i am however paying close attention to my local junk yards for when a Focus comes in so i can grab the headlights in case

As far as dark headlights go, if you've got a 2000-04 Focus you could look into a set of ST170 headlights (european headlights with dark gray housings, integrated signal lights and superior lighting), or even a set of the cheapo ebay projector headlights with the black housings.

Also for tinting taillights, be aware that some insurance companies may deny coverage if they say that illegal modifications contributed to an accident. Ie. it's a sunny day and you brake and get rear ended because the guy behind you couldnt see your lights come on.. Just something to be aware of.

http://www.diamondite.com

Although they DON'T ship to canada, i'm having my mother in the states buy some, and ship it to me. (insert mom jokes here, cuz i know you boneheads want to)

It's an awesome price and If it works well i may sell it around here...big market for it....I would have to say that maybe 85-90% of all cars here have atleast a nick or a crack in the windshield.
