Recant Stuff :)
#1
But working a lot, so not much done to the car for a while. Otherwise been travelling around Europe in the Focus :)

Here's some nice little updates...

I recantly attended the Fast Ford Magazine Thrash at Bruntingthorpe, well known for its use to test all kinds of powerful cars. The issue (which I'll post when it comes out) will be out next month, but here's the advert in the current mag, along with the pics from the day...

Fast Ford Thrash

What an awsome day! Met some quality people who are as mad as their cars!

Usual drop outs due to problematic issues with their cars, but some 8 monsters turned up to rip up the 2 mile straight! :)

Gotta admit, Jano is the craziest person I've ever seen, he literally had to be forced to stop messing about and actually use the timing equipment on one of his many runs! lmao DUDE!!!

I wasn't very successful today, pretty much a trial and error type of thing. Shows having good amounts of power and torque isn't going to get you good times when all you can do is spin up all the way up to 4th gear! Never mind though, some better tyres, more attention to the suspension setup next will be more of a good laugh, can't wait for the next one! :)

Here are a couple of pics, wait till the mag comes out, the pics the photographer took looked ACE on his laptop! :)

To start with, the rescue team :)

Lloyd's 600bhp MK4 Escort Cossie 4x4. But didn't run as he ended up damaging the rear diff. Gutted! Really looked forward to seeing this one :(

This lad came all the way from Scotland this morning...and I thought I drove the furthest!

This Cossie runs well over 400bhp, but on the first launch, the clutch decided to weld itself to the flywheel :( But they managed to take the gearbox appart and fix it in time for the last timing session of the day....RESPECT! :flag:

Escort Cab 4x4 Cossie ran sub 5 second 0-60's all day :)

Mark's "everything done to it" GT30 XR2...BEAST!

Some far away pics of mine getting the photo pic thingy for the mag...

European Ford Event, Holland and the Nurburgring

What an awsome long weekend! :)

A total of 1268 miles was covered, with an average of 270 miles from a full tank of optimax.

Worked on Friday until 4:30pm, drove from Bangor to Wrexham to meet up with a mate. Had a short 3 hour kip before starting the long trek to Dover. Got over in 1 hour 25 mins on the ship, then sprinted off from Calais to the hotel in Heerlen, Holland. Met some quality lads on the boat with a pair of Escort Cossie's, but they went on a slower pace to the hotel lmao

Since our room was on ground floor, we managed to wedge the cars just by the patio doors of our room, so then it was just a matter of filling the bath with water and running backwards and forwards with buckets....that, whilst having a mad session with Bavaria lager! Nice! lmao Had to leave a note the next morning to the cleaners appologising for the mess! lmao

The show was pretty impressive, so much more to offer than U.K. The best part, being able to race others and have your car times on the 8th of a mile strip for FREE!!! As many goes as you wanted!

After the show we returned to the hotel for another mad night, before braking a few pool table cue's and glasses (by accident lmao) and having an early night before Mondays all dayer at the Nurburgring!

What can I say, it was a scary track. For those that know the track well, they had some balls fair play! Its weird how 14 miles does not seem that long...but daaaaam was it REALLY long! lmao So 4 laps were done between us, which is 56 miles each! :)

So all in all, quality 3-4 days away. I advise everyone to do it next year!

(Most of the photo's are on me mates camera, as I didn't have a big enough memory card in mine :( )

on the ship...

What could be seen of the show ground while thousands of cars were waiting to get in...

This RS has been a bit of a topic on here for a while. I can tell it was an awsome machine, and the wheels were pretty perfect IMO...

Waiting to move around to the sprint section...

Here's a few others. Thought this Fiesta airbrushing was awsome, funny as hell! lmao

Notice the...well, bench the driver sits on....not very safe! lmao

Videos

Here's a short video, a bit of the ending missing as the camera ran out of space, of me killing a Cossie'd Grandad! lmao (Notice Dave Moore @ PF catching the shot of the race on the right side! :) )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAhjiMN5K84

And me mate Phil and his Zetec Turbo getting a bit of a problem with putting the power down against a mad launching Saph, almost caught him too! :(

Nurburgring

Can't upload the pics, but check out this page http://www.8200rpm.com/webcam/index.php and click on the 10/9/07 and look at pics 1307, 1350 and 1351.

Best part of the trip, to have the right to have one of these that havn't come off ebay!

I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.

It's interesting to see that the Asian cars are of little-2-no consequence over there...that people preffer the Fords, Vaxhalls and French cars more...

Dude, most of the cars you posted could hand my Mustang it's ass anytime anywhere I'm sure. Nothing but respect for you and your m8's

Oh no mate, there's a biiiiiiiig following for those type of cars over here. Like this one for example, running around 1000bhp!

But the American V8's don't really stand a chance against these little Pocket Rockets. Its always going to be down to weight, not power. But saying that, we go mad on power too!

I don't think anyone likes French cars, only those who know nothing about cars and don't mind having the plastic front of a French car shoved into their chests during a crash  But their cheap cars, and the kids who just got their licence use and abuse them

I mean, who in the world likes the French?
