Sure its under 30k at $29 360 (mazda.ca), add options, taxes, and that BS, thats an expensive machine.

For that kind of money Im going south of the border and picking up a used bmw 335i. Its got 2 turbos! :P

A used US spec Bimmer with likely no warranty coverage left and therefore bills out the ying yang likely versus a factory fresh Mazda speed demon?

Maybe if you can do all your own repairs and get parts cheap. I'd take the Speed 3 (if I could physically drive it) with a full warranty thanks :P

It would be hard to find a car for $30'000 that has the power and standard options as the MS3. Options on any new car can get out of control very fast. The great thing with the Mazada Speed parts is they are all covered under factory warrenty so you can get a CAI and an exhaust through Mazda and get a 300hp sleaper.

I'm expecting this "beast" Focus to be at the 30,000+ range. ( I predict 35,000)
I would buy it before a stang because less weight, cheaper on gas (hopefully) and winter friendly (FWD).

They pretty much lost me when they said no AWD. :(

I guess a Subie really will be my next "new" car. Of course, that's years down the road so who the hell knows?

Note to wondering members - properly-built small SUVs (ala the Escape) are strangely addicting.
