I got my 1988 Corolla on the road without having to go get the test done, my mechanic took it to a drive clean place in Guelph, and they said it's an 88' so they didn't need one. when I registered the car the girl at the MTO looked at the paperwork when she said the words " do you have the emmision test paper?" then going oh, it's an 88.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.

An 88 wouldn't require a test this year. Odd year cars test on even years and vice versa.
