Yes , same here ... couldn't wait for this spring to come and get the new tires and a suspension kit . So far I stick with the tires .

What's your plans for the suspension? Myself I'll keep it stock for now cause I'll know it would be more that I can handle on my first track day :D
I saw that you've been to Dunnville yesterday, how is it for beginners? I watched a few videos on youtube and it seems to be a relatively low speed, technical track. Another thing I liked is that there are no walls to hit :)

So far the suspension matter is on the back burner... work is slow ...
The SVTF suspension is kind of soft but if you have sticky tires and good brakes is all good . You should only try to prove something to yourself . As for others being faster , that's just a challenge to better yourself . It's not a race . Go there to have fun .I can't say that I am experienced , I've been there just once before , you just gotta go , lap and the faster you go and less tires you burn the better you become , right ? :) Last year we went clockwise and I got to know the turns pretty fast . This time we went counterclockwise and it seemed to me a little more difficult this way , plus the weather was kind of cold so I had a hard time warming up the tires . I can't say much about speed , I've never been at Mosport big track where I heard they reach high speed , but if you follow this link http://www.touge.ca/Touge/20090531Dun.htm and look at the track configuration , I can tell you that with my current setup , worn out tires , no LSD , stock SVTF suspension and typical SVTF engine that only starts pulling at about 5500 rpm , I was able to do 145 km/h on the Front Straight , up to 100km/h on Curve Grande and someone clocked me on some laps 1min24secs . Whether this is good or bad , I don't know , the one timing me (drives Audi TT , with coilovers , Dunlop tires , turbo engine and other mods) said he did 1min20secs/lap and one of the fastest cars on the track , a blue Mazda RX7 that seemed to just fly , did 1:19 /lap . You be the judge of this . There is just one hay wall coming out of the Club turn , but it's pretty far .
NikiterZTS was there with his WRX , he did good , chewed my ass and passed me ,there's no more respect for older people , <_< , but I'll forgive him , cause he's a nice guy :lol:

Oh yes!! :D Is just that I recently moved from U.S. and I'm looking for a job right now but if everything is ok I want to do at least one track day this year. I was thinking at the one at Bowmanville organized by SVTOA on 31 August. Thing is since I've never been on the track I would like to have an instructor the first time and they offer one at this event since is HPDE.
The SVT is a great car and I would like to "savor it" in it's stock form until my driving abilities are increasing. This way I'll know what to change.
Suspension wise KW Variant (1-2-3) is a very good choice. If money is tight Koni yellows with stock springs or HR Race is another good option. Again, I'm speaking from what I've read (too much free time :)
How's the power steering pump holding up for you? I know most people that go on track at the very least upgrade the fluid to Redline since the stock one is foaming and causes pump failure. I changed mine 2 months ago and it was black and it's supposed to be red :lol: Also, are you running the stock brake fluid?

Where abouts from the States? :hi: I lived a few years in Atlanta ...ohh , the good ol' days :( , warm weather 10 months a year ! The SVTOA this year is the place to be , I have been to the one last year , was great , instructors from Canada and USA , awesome atmosphere and alot to learn .We used the small (DDT) course at Bowmanville , is not a fast one , but has alot of tight turns and changes in elevation , which makes it alot more interesting . One of the instructors , from N.Y. did invite us to participate at his event at Watkins Glen , unfortunately I couldn't make it .Power steering pump is ok so far , yes the fluid is black , but is the original since 2003 . The brake fluid is still DOT3 but I bled the brakes 3 times so far , once because I had overheated the brakes and twice just to be sure . I am pretty sure that all in all I managed to replace the old brake fluid . I use Valvoline DOT3 so far .

BTW , I hope to go to Dunnville again on May 31st , why don't you come take a look , the price is not high and if you just want to come see , it'll be the two of us to "represent ". SVT in the house . So far hasn't been any other Foci . Word ? :D

i use to live in Charleston, South Carolina and the weather, now I can say it was great. When I was there I was complaining that is too hot and humid, now I want it back :D In February I was washing and waxing my car in shorts something I won't be doing here until June :)
It would be a good idea for you to change the fluid with Redline synthetic (you can get it online), a lot of people with SVT's that see more track days in a year have installed a transmission cooler but I guess in Canada being much cooler is not quite necessary. So the stock brakes are good for lapping days, that's good news.

Front pads are ceramic and rear semi-metallic . With front OEMs I got vapor lock and had to bleed them . I am ok ever since . It doesn't cost you if you don't get on the track . Just the gas to get there :D
