just saying not everyone would pony up the $$ for a car like that, but maybe thts different in your part of canada. but good for u bro.

Well the Focus after all said and done was 27k.

That's a down payment on a condo right there :P

Even in Regina I doubt it's more than 20% of a downpayment on a new condo though (In the GTA that's barely enough for the 5% down now on a new one )

Barely would make 20% depending on how new the condo is and how big.

Our avg home price went up 13% from 2009 alone, it's now sitting at 260k.

And some of these houses aren't worth it. When the rest of Canada went on a decline, we grew. I'm waiting it out saving money living with the 'rents. Houses will come down, it's just a matter of time, and I've got lots of that. I'm only 25 going on 26

99% of the time I would agree that used makes way more sense than new, but for me an STi is one of those cars that falls into the 1% of the time I'd feel better with a new car...With a used Subie WRX/STi you usually never know what kind of person owned/treated it before and what kind of stunts they pulled in it trying to be like Ken Block.

Well I sure made mine was the unmolested one. Took it to my mechanic (which was 70km away from the dealer, got to have a nice long test drive) to see if any engine mods were performed and if were put back to stock. Did all the car proofs and carfaxes.
In reality STi can take a lot of beating, it's tranny alone can make up for all the clutch dumps.

Personaly i can't see myself buying a new car in a long-long time. A used 2-3 year old car is just fine in my books.

After driven sti's I find that these cars must be weekend track cars because it's too hard to test their full potential on regular roads.

The problem was I could not find a WRX or STi used that hadn't been beaten like a red headed step child. There was an 06 white STi, every rim all the way round had curb rash and deep marks too. The interior was in bad shape, and it only had 76000km. The dealer wanted 26 for the car. New was really my only option

Looks awesome!

I hated the look of the new WRX's when they first came out, but the STI's have certainly grown on me like they have for others on here. I like the flared front fenders, the rear diffuser with the quad tail pipes, and the ram air hood. I also like the LED tailights and the way they designed the rear spoiler, which I think actually looks better than the Mazdaspeed3's.

Nice car, and I agree with what others said, that a car like that is the kind you want to buy new, that hasn't been ruined by some idots joyriding it.

Now, if Ford would only release an AWD Focus in Canada...

The BMW's are nice cars. But the STi is more fun, atleast to me.

Take both out for a test drive. Some subaru dealerships won't let you take out the STi until they know your buying one. Which was my case. So I took out the WRX265. And bought the STi on the fact I knew what I wanted.
