Got all the required pieces on Friday afternoon. Lower control arms from work and the Rally Brake Kit from Kona. I have given all the parts a fresh coat of paint and was going to start the install until it started raining. I was hoping to do this over the weekend but family comes first and I have to brave the traffic later on to take Jamie home to her mothers. And she lives close to the 427 and the Gardiner. Not looking forward to that journey.

Here is pic's of the fresh paint.

Drew has the eye. Ford Blue Engine Enamel. I have used it on all my calipers for years without any problems.

The tear down begins tonight. After I eat I am going to get the front end off the ground and start ripping her apart. I will finish it all up tomorrow and be pimping big brakes at the K-John Show. If anybody wants to lend a hand shoot me a PM for the address.

Things aren't going as planned. The front isn't coming apart as easily as the rear end did. I was originally hoping to be done by noon on Thursday. But as the car sits right now I highly doubt it.

Um yeah, things didn't go well. I have given up. I could not seperate the CV Shaft from the wheel hub on the drivers side. So rather than mess things up royally I have put it all back together and I am going to give it another try some other time. I am thinking if I cannot remove the outer joint from the hub I may as well replace the CV shafts completely. This way I can just pull them out at the tranny and not worry about the wheel hubs, as they are being replaced with the big brake kit.

What a piss off though. I was hoping to be sporting 4 wheel big brakes at the K-John Show on Saturday. Oh well, what can I do?

cv axle cannot be seperated after removing hub retaining nut?
try soak with wd40 or something similar and use mallet to seperate..

if not, then only suggestion is to take it to shop and ask them to seperate it and put it back in..

and how much shop charged you to press hub into knuckle?
