what is syncromeshing?

i'm having problems again. car seems to pop out of gear here and there. It happened back when I first got the car but only a couple times. Lately it's happening more frequently.

I'm finding that when I put it in gear, it won't go in all the way and I end up grinding. I've noticed 4th gear pop out several times too, 3rd not as much. no problems with 2nd or 5th. 1st gear is OK but a couple times recently I've ended up grinding it.

Not really sure why I'm having troubles getting into gear, let alone why it spits it out sometimes.

Try adjusting the shift linkage first.

Theres a few things i'd like to comment on here. First thing is do what hardkore says and tighten up those cables. The next is how much milage is on the car and how much on the clutch? I'd be looking at your clutch before your synchros, but then again you never know!

clutch is fine. car has 119k on it.

if your having some issues, try using some royal purple synchromesh, or even some ford honey and just replace if your having some issues
