Objective: - Get some new rims and tires without the wife thinking I'm spending money on things I don't need. Must be 16" - 17" to clear rotors.

why bigger size to clear rotors? got SVT fronts?

Yeah, the SVT rotors are about the same size as my current wheels. Slip a bicycle tire on it and could use it for a space saver.

Well picked up a set of rashed out wheels with tired tires, but it's a start. I'm having fun with it and to me, that's all that matters. LOL.
