New Headlight Bulbs
#1
Well I finally went out and forked out the coin for those Silverstar lightbulbs for my projectors. Man it was a pain to install those buggers. I guess with the stock headlights its a joke simple plug and play but with these projectors I had to remove the front grille and then remove the headlight fixture itself and then try to figure out the little clip deal to remove the old bulb and install the new bulb. Took me about an hour to get this job done but the new bulbs put out some real decent light.

Anyone else out there with projectors...is there an easier way to change the bulbs?

I hope you remembered what you did because those silverstars will need replacing in a few weeks.

I don't think they last too long. :(

My Silverstar H4's in the stock 03 headlights are going on 2 years strong, and they even survived an accident--where the headlight housings, did not...

maybe i'm lucky, but they rock, particularly the silverstars in behind the svt foglights

lol, I didnt have to do any of that when I changed my bulbs in my hellas.

I just removed the bulb housing, took out the bulb, put the new one in, and put er' back together.

I found the PIAAs a lot brighter. Mine have 85w/85w. Price is probably almost the same. PIAAs come with 1 year warranty.

the hids are definitely brighter than piaa. but piaas are probably the brightest halogen bulb you can get and they last long too. i was always been a fan of piaa since 1989.

there are probably brighter because they are higher wattage

i had similar PIAAs and then i switched to untinted bulbs of the same wattage.. untinted bulbs obviously were brighter

Why would they tint a bulb. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a light bulb emmiting light?

NM, I see that now.

It just seems odd that their projector bulbs are crap, and their standard halogen stuff rocks hard.
