So, here are the details of my very first mod for our car.
Please don't laugh (lol) - [I just made myself laugh.]
Start with the material - 1 1/2" elastic, black to match the interior.
Twelve or thirteen inches long - depending on how tight you want it.
(disclaimer: this worked for my 2009; others could be similar)
Sew it with about a half-inch of overlap. (thanks Helen).
Remove the arm rest - four screws.
Remove the arm rest under plate - more screws (4).
Seperate the two pieces and slip the sewn elastic over the arm rest,
seam hidden. Position it properly to miss the screws.
Reinstall the under plate which keeps the elastic in place.
This is what mine looks like - seems useful so far.
No hacking, cutting, glueing.
