Are Svt's Hard To Sell?
#41
im not dissing im telling the truth.

why buy an svt if some ones only concern is how the car looks. The zx3 and svt are the exact same style. If you want a euro looking car why would you even bother with a svt. You can buy a cheaper zx3 and acheive the euro look simple

Jay, two questions for you... have you ever sat in an SVT or driven one? Would you like too? If so PM Tyler your phone number, we will be in Regina today.

Your not telling the truth jay at all. They are NOT the exact same car. Ok they have the same body. ...thats like saying the sedan is the same

Give it up man, your so wrong on EVERY level. LOL, I honestly thought I knew you better.

Listen to Mark, he's done both, he would know from experience, not reading some magazines...

I would never say they look the exact same, for those who dont know they think Ive done a lot of work to the car. Guys who have Cavs and Sunfire is the JCO cant believe the SVT and the performance. Motor Trend this month is still mentioning the SVT in comparison with the Colbalt and Neon. This car made a mark, unfortinately not in the sales book. Remember this has warrenty as well on all these upgrades never happen on a modded car. VOID.

I've drove an SVT myself and even with all the mods I got to my car (not a TON of performance but almost everything commonly bolted on besides the rest of my exhaust) and the SVT literally BLOWS away my car both in performance, handling, etc.

I'd take a modded or even stock SVT anyday over a very modified ZX3. Most modded ZX3's can't even tough a stock SVT in performance without spending thousands in mods for the ZX3 and in the end you still have a car that doesn't have the appearance status that a SVT has, let alone the limited production.

It's two completely different cars in many aspects.

but like I said. We are not talking about the performance side. We are talking about the looks and thats whats the discussion was about the whole time witch started with the interior.

So you guys are telling me you much rather have the look of a stock SVT then a ZX3 with a full european body kit?

no...no...no....what your saying is their the same car. They are Not. The interior is better, the suspension is better, the exterior is better, and of course, the engine comes with more HP/Trq stock.

No, If I had the choice between an SVT and a ZX3 with full european body kit, Id take the SVT anyday. Thats like saying, would you get an RSX base model, or the RSX Type s. Of course youd start with the Type S. Your getting MORE bang for your buck with the SVT...slap on your precious european body kit on the SVT, and your still faster than a ZX3, have a nicer interior than a ZX3, and handle better than a ZX3.

Not the same car dood, not even close.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong Jay, your car looks sweet, one of the nicest on this board. BUT, I betcha you would be singing a different tune if you slapped on a euro body kit on your own SVT. ;) You'd be THAT much ahead of the rest. ;). Imagine what kind of numbers you would put down on the SVT with FI. ....I was just reading on FJ, and one member got 245 Hp to the wheels with his vortech SC. AND he thinks he can still sqeeze out another 20HP with a proper tune. You think you'd get numbers like that with a ZX3 without dumping TONS of $$$. Nope.

But if you are justifying the cost of the SVT then you cant just base in on looks. nobody would pay 5000 for an upgraded interior. You have to compare the complete package, some will like the SVT interior others may not. The SVT can still be changed, hell look at the European Package Recaro SVT interior. Its awesome.

It really all boils down to a persons preference. Some want the serious modded sport compact market look, some want a stock look (but upgraded over other models like the SVT).

As you mentioned Jay, some would definitely take a complete euro kit over a SVT. Some wouldn't. To me, euro is seriously seriously overrated but in saying that, don't take that the wrong way. Your car for example is awesome and by far one of the most properly put together examples of a modded focus. You know I love your car.

It's really all personal opinion but saying the SVT is overrated is one of those borderline comments as you can see which got you a ton of feedback.

My car handles better than an SVT, and performs better than an SVT.

And yes, of course I've driven one.

IMO, I'd take a lightly modded ZX3 over a SVT because thats just me, I don't like having something that tons of other people have.

Modified SVT vs. Modified ZX3 is a easy choice though.

I still think SVT's are overpriced.

So does mine. But lets say I started with an SVT, and did everything to that SVT that I did to my ZX3, I would have one sweet ass ride. Some people just dont get my point.

Its not the same car.

i didn't know they produced more svts than zx3s. :D
i agree that the svt was overpriced, thats why i waited and got it for 23k on the road, i know of people who spent the same amount on a fully loaded zx3.
