I guess you dont have to, but if its going to lessen the pain then I would do it. Im not sure exactly how much it helps....I just do what I was taught from my father & the zoo.

That's pretty cool Nate. I never heard that one before, and I spent a few years living in very rural Northern Ontario... complete with dogs being attacked by porcupines.

Whenever my dad would see cats in the garbage, he'd open the door and let the dog get em'. A few times they werent cats. :huh: :rolleyes:

I think there's a bit of contradictory info out there.. though, I'd go with what the zoo taught me, since they should know, right? If the needles aren't under pressure, and it makes no difference, it still doesn't hurt to take the extra precaution.

My garbage gets ripped open by birds. Yep. I caught them one morning. 2 Crows tearing away at the bag. Nice mess too!!

I send my cats out whenever I see dogs tearing up my garbage. :lol: They are very territorial and will attack anything that comes near my property (dogs, rabbits, skunks, mice, birds, other cats) :angry:
