I haven't posted here in a long time but thought I'd get some opinions on new cars I could look into for about $30k. I could go up to $35 but that is the max.
Over the past year I've had a 350Z and a Yamaha R1 but now I'm back to just the Focus.
Any ideas?

The Mustang!!
That's an option I hadn't thought of.
Thanks.
I was also thinking SRT-4 or a WRX.

I'd want an SRT4 if the interior wasnt so crappy. After i sat in a cobalt SS i'd take the 30 less HP hands down.
in 06 the cobalt SS is coming with Recaro Buckets and a Qualife

The Saturn Ion Redline I sat in last month had Recaros... why are they making the Cobalt lose out?
My first choice if I had $30K to spend would be a 2005 Focus ST or a 2005 Mustang coupe (non-GT). If being new wasn't a stipulation, I'd go used SVT or used 99-02 Mustang GT.
The 05 Mustang goes 0-60MPH ~ 6.5 seconds and still gets decent mileage. You could slap on the factory handling package, then chip it and do base mods and probably go 0-60 in the upper 5s and corner like a champ.
EDIT - the factory handling package is trash. They should just call it "ABS + Traction Control" package.

I second these. I've wanted an IS300 for ever, and the Mini was super fun to drive, never driven a Cooper Works, but I can imagine its better.
*wishes he had $30k to spend on a car, :( poor little $5-7k*

Mini Cooper S - Works Package - My god, 210HP at the crank with that car... unbelievable. I can only imagine the amount of trouble I'd get into with it.
That's provided I fit in it, of course <_<

$46,000 for the Works :o
The Mini is surprisingly roomy inside. My 6'2" buddy had to move the seat up to reach the pedals.

I've always had the Focus. The 350Z and the R1 were fun but I was wasting too much money on those toys.
What I need is a new car to replace the Focus not really be a second car.
