He sounds so disappointed when saying "The Focus is our only choice now for the economy class cars"... LOL Loser. Who makes a history of the ESCORT?

The same type of people that make web sites about the Focus.

My dad was a Ford manager, got sent to Dearborn from Windsor to work out some of the mentioned engine issues with the early Escort/Lynx.

For its time, the Escort was a good value in vehicle. I had an '82 EXP that got 600 km on a tank of gas (and it wasn't fuel injected). Bought it for $300, drove it for 2 years and 120000km on a battery, tires and a carb rebuild (it had 220,000km), and then sold it for $500.

Someday, you'll probably have some guy shaking his head at you when you mention that you were a member of a Focus forum group. ;)

Lmao............. I get the opposite, people actually like the direction I'm taking my car in. I think it has to do with the colour. :P

Exactly

In '83 when I was 16 I had an Escort GT in bright orange to beat the shite out of during July & August (my father hired some Ford execs kids for the summer, so I got a free car). It was great on the highway and the seats were really good, but I remember having trouble removing the 15 year old girlfriends love juices off those black seats! Then we discovered the rear seat could fold down and that problem was solved. Ah, to be 16 again and driving a free car filled with gas every week :D
Old enough to know me limit, yet young enough to exceed it.
