Me, my car insurance needed to know if I modified it. They took picture and everything. And my insurace a little bit higher because of it. Because everything that is aftermarker will be more expensive...that's what my insurance told me.

I declared everything had it appraised and came up with an agreed replacement value. It cost me just under $1000 per month while it was on the road. My car was a few steps above your average tuner.

I now have a more powerful stock car and pay $106 per month.
I have a few cars.

One for my dog.
One that has no roof.
One that looks good parked at the golf course.
One that is being rebuilt by a guy named Nero..... will it ever be done?

Albertans are raped. Private insurance companies.

I'm a girl, I'm 21, I had one accident in October, no tickets on my insurance, and the insurance company doesn't know of my modifications. I pay approx $4000/year, that's $334/month. I can't imagine what it will jump to when I tell them of my modifications, since I have now installed a body kit.

Before my accident, I still paid approx $2800/year, that's $235/month.

And not all aftermarket parts are more expensive than OEM. My OEM front bumper is $590, and my aftermarket front bumper is closer to $400. But, my OEM hood is $465, and my aftermarket hood is closer to $650 (mind you, my hood is CF).

$6800/yr for me.

I have one ticket. Without the ticket I was quoted at $3300/yr.

Edit: I'm 21 and a guy. So I get raped from the start. And I drive a '99 Impreza 2-door, no longer my Dads Focus.

Edit2: My quote on a Focus ZX3/5 was $4400/yr so the Suby is cheaper to insure.

Edit3: That's liability only....

just got quoted last week for $1650/yr on '02 zx3 (that's with 5km each way to work, and 5% discount cuz i have house insurance with them). they asked about mods, but didn't care about anything less than $1500 ea. mod. i mentioned the hid's and approx. replacement cost, but its less than $1500, so they didn't care.

I pay $125/month with everything maxed out. When I got the car insured they didn't care to see the car or ask if I did anything to it. Mind you we've been with Allstate for like 20 years now and we're on a first name basis with our insurance guy so I guess that helps.

don't tell them anything they don't need to know.

My insurance on my 2003 ZX3

$98 a month
$22 a month for additional coverage

Plus I get a discount for my good driving record.

This gives me a $50 package policy. Anything happens to my car and as long as its not totaled I pay $50 or who ever is at fault and I get it fixed.

Im using my insurance for the tires and rims I blew out. $50 and I will have new tires. Yay for Sask. But then this makes my monthly insurance ($22 fee) go up a bit to. Everytime you use it its goes up.

In Sask you can have as many mods as you want and they wont ding you for extra insurance. We also dont have any stupid laws against emissions and all that junk.
