converting the currencies, that's a $67,000 car vs a $45,000 car.. which isn't really apples to apples, but i think it proves the point he was making.
Big and brash vs small and refined. which one won? I don't think it was strictly about cost, and he admitted it (the outcome wasn't a surprise).
Top Gear will always be ragging on american cars.. I don't blame them.. we get a good amount of crap here... if I had the choices in cars they had, I'd be ragging on american cars too.
But it's totally different in the UK.. you have to remember that a car is a luxury there... at over $2/L for gas, they know the privelege of driving, while here, it's more a birth-right..
But there are some american cars that they love... the Focus ST, the GT, etc... granted, all top dollar machines tho.
I still love Top Gear.. it's great entertainment, and what they have to say about american manufacturers isn't all incorrect.
