The SPI doesn't have the DPFE sensor that the Zetec has. Check with your dealer for the fuel pump recall.
Check your sparkplugs, sparkplug wires and wires leading into the distributor cap and MAF sensor. Both of those clusters of wires (moreso the dist. cap) have been known to corrode easily and break thanks to blowby from the grille and gap between the grille and hood. Road water/salt gets in there, dries on the wire sheathing and causes corrosion.
