I suppose I could park there car and be a secondary on my Dads car again. But I love to drive, and that's the price I have to pay unfortunately, which may now rise because of the ticket, at which point I might just HAVE to park there car. This is only affordable because I don't have to pay for where I live, I used to, and then it would not have been affordable at all. I was hoping I could continue this way for another year and a half, until it was off my insurance, and then I could start concidering my options.
one great example of that is you have a 6800/yr insurance and you are still in a position where that is affordable and you can still drive! i know if my insurance was ever that high i would have to park the car and bike for a couple of yrs

Originally I was quoted at $3300/yr, that would be far more managable, would have allowed me to save more money to deal with the engine problem. Also continuing to have a job would have helped, and really that's half my own fault, not the getting laid off, but not having a job now, I could have tried harder, applied for more things, instead of wondering around in my car trying to take artsy pictures everywhere with my fancy pants camera. (though that was fun, and I loved every minute of it).
