Dont know if that's true or not.. cant really tell from the pictures. It's not a bad looking hood, as long as the scoop is actually functional. Not that a functional hoodscoop is really going to make a giant difference to a Focus, but it would just be embarrassing to have a hood with a fake scoop.

/edit: I guess they are functional, if you view the brochure you can zoom in to see they run a duct from the scoop to where ever the intake is underneath the hood. So a center mounted scoop could have the underhood opening over where the airbox would be..
