Most of the issues with the rear trunk/decklid/hatch not opening are now centering around the following:
- poor contact in the switch in the dash
- shorted out wire somewhere (especially those with the hatchback and a possible weak design in the wiring harness)
- lock has seized because everyone goes for the button on the dash or their fobs
You could try and squirting some penetrating spray into the keyhole of the trunk. Maybe the lock mechanism has seized somehow.
I'd probably take it to the dealer to let them mess around with it. When everything is resolved, make sure you periodically use your KEY and open the trunk and other doors.
