Yes , the thermostat housing is an issue with the focus , svt and non svt alike, i would suggest looking for a housing at the wreckers from perhaps a contour with the 2.0 L zetec motor in it, since that housing is higher quality and metal vs plastic like you have currently, and yeah it works , i have one in my car and hasnt given me problems since i ditched the plastic crap....
Im assuming that since your car is blue you have the matching blue interior ?
