well, I wanted to figure out why this was happening.
so I unplugged all the vacuum hoses and plugged them back in. it didnt change anything power-wise.
but then I was turned onto the different types of dynos by thefrush and similar posts on here. I did some research and its shown that Dyno Dynamics dynos historically read a lot lower than dynojets.
so if i threw this on a dynojet, it should read what mitch, focussport, powerworks, and a couple of jetters have been seeing.
I found some interesting data on a RX7 forum,
1992 Ford Ranger, Dyno'd at various locations:
Dynapack @ A'PEXi - 157hp/179lb-ft
Dynamic Test Sytems @ XS Engineering - 155hp/181lb-ft
Maha @ AMS - 105hp/120lb-ft
Dyno Dynamics @ Vishnu - 102hp/142lb-ft
Dynojet @ HKS - 152hp/193lb-ft
Dynojet @ K&N - 156hp/196lb-ft.
so im not worried anymore. I booted it down the road and saw 9psi today, so everything should be tickedy-boo. the next time im in vancouver (which may be in 3-4 weeks) I may stop by a dynojet to confirm this.
the dropoff is usually around 15-17%, so if I were to take those numbers. on a dynojet the car should be pushing 213-219fwhp and 180-190fwtq
