Heck, how many people keep all the receipts for their mods in their car? I don't. This is the last thing to ever cross my mind when crossing the border. So if you get a prick on this.. what do they do? pull out their magic 8 ball and tell you your intake cost $1000, cough over the cash? Or confiscate it and leave you stranded?
I guess "guilty until proven innocent" prevails. Thought that was only here in the states

actually if you "Plan ahead on your trip to the states... which i seriously recommend to anyone not wanting to be detained at the border... got to the customs Canada site and theres a full checklist they recommend for ease of traveling.
They suggest (as do I) that if you have anything that the customs official might suspect you could be inquired about when returning to the great country of CANADA you stop before you cross over to the states and have your stuff declared before hand.... Basically they take account of anything they might ask about when you return that you don't have recipts for.
The majority of the stuff they don't care about... but the last couple times we went across they tagged my gps, mp3 play and a couple other thing... total time was 15 minutes...buu when you return and the customs officer asks what you declare and you promptly show him the customs sheet... they tend to not bother you and think you have your bees in your bonnet....
