I have a lot of back trouble, very weak lower back due to breakage when I was younger. I tend to wretch my back once in a while, pulling muscles and stuff. Heat helps a lot, try robaxacet or robaxasol, they are strong muscle relaxants and anti inflammatories. Mixed with rest, that combination usually helps me get back on my feet relatively quickly. Just remember not to push it when you're taking meds like those because you are so relaxed that you won't notice wretching your back even more.
