Canadians Buying U.s. Cars In Record Numbers
#23
Don't forget to add the taxes, import fees, safety, blah, blah, blah.... had my GLI Jetta imported frm states saved about $5,000 CAD on a used one )) pretty sweet deal! Some cars are a lot cheaper to buy in Canada, some are cheaper to buy in States. Depends what you are looking for. Not everything can be imported, but overall it's really easy to do it yourself, don' t even think about hiring a broker (another $300-$500 in savings).

In the states, you can pick them up for $35k USD.

Another example...

Mazda 3 speed.  Here in Canada it starts out at 31K CDN, in the states, 23K USD, thats a huge difference even with the exchange rate (which works out to about 24-25K CDN for a brand new MS3)
