I don't know your dad, but if it was me, I'd do the same thing just to be thorough and just to be responsible. Please don't assume he's given up.

As long as your dad is more angry than resigned ... as long as he continues to participate in his own care and hold the doctors accountable ... as long he continues to believe he's got something valuable to stick around for - those are all good things and will help him get through this.

...and when I try to cajole him by saying the only way I'm letting him walk outta there is under his own power on his own two feet, his response to me was "We'll see, we'll see" :ph34r:

God right now my head is going a million miles an hour but nothing is getting done :(
