i believe low torque cars 'feel' slower than they really are from a standstill because they have to be launch abusively to be fast off the line.. like.. a modified wrx will feel much slower than a s4 in everyday driving coming off a stop light because the wrx has very little torque off the line but the s4 has a huge v8 with tons of torque down low... but driving in the mountains the difference between the cars isn't as apparent when the wrx being driven full throttle/full boost
the idea motor i think is something like those big v10 setups.. power power everywhere at any speed from idle up to 8k rpm redline
