The funny thing is, I've seen the hackjob stuff done in this town, and in a lot of towns. THe quality of the laminate we bought, although it's only 8mm, is far superior to everything we already have down in the house. I shudder to think of what could possibly be used these days.

I'm kinda proud we didn't spend much to get the look we wanted. That's what it's all about right - maximize your enjoyment AND maximize the value of your house for the least amount of cash.. :)

I think we could debate carpets vs. laminate all day. The bottom line is that laminate is much easier to clean and maintain than carpet and doesn't hold the stigma of being "dirty", even when it's clean.
