Fire and Rescue "chase" too. It happened to a friend of mine. They listen to the police scanner and rush to the scene unbidden. Then they ask for your insurance info so that they can bill a huge invoice to your insurance company!

How do I know this? A cop told us at my friend's accident scene. The cop told us that you are NOT required to give any personal info out except to the police. In the heat of the moment, and talking to a fire/rescue professional in uniform, most people fall for this nasty little scheme.
