the thing is none of films would be without subsidizes from the government, and that goes for major and indie film and tv productions. since more and more major films have been shot in Canada and uses Canadian resources and labour. I'm not say subsidize the porn industry, this is not about that industry at all it more along the lines of government letting questionable social issue be created. Would a film like Juno ever be allowed to be made then?
A little government spend goes a long way to help the economy.
