I did the same thing with my old KHS Montana Pro...I invested a lot of money into it with different parts now and then, and it was/is a 1993-1994 framed bike (MBA Bike of the year like 2 years in a row at the time...). It got too tired on me though, and it would have cost more money to overhaul it, than to buy a new bike spec'd to the same level. So, I went out and spent an extra few hundred, and got myself a 2006-2007 KHS Alite 2000...I love hardtails, and preffer to ride X-country singletrack with them.
