A silencer is exactly what the top half of the stock Focus (05-08+) intake is... there's absolutely nothing to it but dampening for volume and empty space.
It (should) be fairly simple to remove and reinstall the resonator/silencer. Hell, I'd consider doing it for the truck (entirely different segment, but still).
