To get good mileage out of a Focus you have to drive it really nice, under 2500RPM, 2000 if you can. The owners manual even states, 88kph is the most effeicient. Anything more your fuel will drop. So I sit in the right with cruise set at 100kph.
My last tank I got 460km on 38 liters, all city driving. Lasted me 3 weeks. I have finally noticed that my mileage is getting better. The car will be a year old come end of August, have just over 9000km so far.
Canadiandriver.com got 742 out of 50liters on a new Focus, driving 110 kmh. I've never tried a full tank drive yet.
I wish 5 gear was taller. At 100 kph I'm at 2750RPM, I should be 2000RPM. The problem is the masses don't like to down shift, I can be in 5th at 40kph and have no problem speeding up. Which is stupid because thats why people buy sticks????
