Ecoboost Update: Pricing Announced

Ford’s EcoBoost to carry $700 premium
8-18-8
Source: leftlanenews

Ford will charge $700 for its fuel-saving, high performance EcoBoost motor when it is launched early next year in the Lincoln MKS sedan and Ford Flex crossover wagon. Ford says that the V6 version of the motor, which will be the initial offering at its launch, will improve fuel economy by as much as 20 percent over a V8 while providing similar - if not better - power.

For 2010, the EcoBoost motor will show up in the F-150 pickup with, according to a Ford spokeseman quoted in Automotive News, “significantly more” than 340 horsepower and 340 lb-ft. of torque.

Though Ford hasn’t released details on its four-cylinder EcoBoost - expected to make up a large percentage of EcoBoost sales - the automaker did tell Leftlane that it expects more than 90 percent of 2013 Ford vehicles to have EcoBoost motors under the hood. The EcoBoost motor combines turbocharging with variable valve timing and other performance and efficiency-boosting techniques designed to produce power of a larger engine with efficiency of a smaller engine.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.
