Not worth triming them it will take away from the look and make them look like @ss. Only thing I would consider is to mock up the side skirts see where the door is and cut the piece that overlays the door and then mount the skirt and 2 side tape the piece you cut off to the door. You might have a little gap but a good shop well take care of it no problem. Otherwise sell them or swap them for a set that will work.
