Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

Ya i've used that to sucessfully reset my ipod a few times.

I have used that trick many times on my 20GB Photo, but I as of yet haven't had any trouble with my iTouch. (touches wood and crosses fingers)
