Why I'm asking is this:
Strut bearings don't rotate 360 degrees. They're installed and loaded and only wear in less than 120 degrees.
When you remove the strut assembly, if you spin the bearing when you disassemble and reassemble the strut/spring it now will load and ride the bearing in a new spot. There isn't much to a strut bearing to begin with. That's why when I do struts I always change the bearing if it has anything more than 10k on it -- they're only $10 a piece.
So to answer your question; yes, you can wear out the stutmount bearing on an '09 already. In car years that can be almost 2 years old (ie. was it an early 09 or a late 09?) -- the '11s are only 4 month away. Without knowing how many clicks are on it, it's sometimes better safer than sorry.
