that sounds about right. B4 you even consider this, your car must in TOP shape. you need to be able to drive 10,000 km and not have a problem. I thought my car was in top shape, but it turned out my alternator wasnt. mechanically there isnt a lot that can go wrong thats in your control. however, before hand you will want a mechanic to go over it with you, do a voltage test on alternator, make sure battery is still good, check all 4 tires, oil change, fuel filter if you havent for a while, good drive shafts, good motor mounts, the list can go on for ever, the point is to have the car set and ready to rock and roll.
On thing you definitely need. LOTS OF RED BULL. i went through 8 red bull and 4 5 hour energy things in 24 hours. u may not feel so good when u get there, but it will save you from getting sleepy and crashing.
a secondary driver is a plus, also for time for the cars to cool off, well we will have bathroom/gas stops. also would be a good idea to stop at some random rest stops, take a walk as long trips are hard on ya as you get fluid build up in your lower extremeties.
also, have everything you need for a road side emergency. john mentions tire plugs and compressor, also make sure your spare tire is in car still (mine isnt) have your jack and everything. also somebody (likely me) will bring tools aswell, that way if something does go wrong we can fix it. with the right tools, light and money we can do anything on the side of the road LOL
ok so now i feel like im ranting. Peace out
