Dude, I LOLEd when I read that! And I'd say it's more 60/40 food and exercise, but that might just be maintenance that she's referring to.
Seriously, putting yourself into more of a ketogenic metabolic mode is quite sensible. People are just addicted to sugar and it wreaks havoc on their bodies - insulin levels all out of whack, your body enters storage mode / hibernation mode, etc.
I gave up refined sugar in like 90%+ of my diet, except where I can't avoid it (whole wheat bread, etc). Hands-down it's the best thing I ever did for myself at the dietary level.
