Just curious, is this Focus just for the track, because according to the MTO you can only swap an engine that was offered in the model car you are putting the engine into (ie. you can put a V8 mustang engine in a V6 mustang). With the older engine in a newer car, that engine has to pass the emissions of the newer car. It would have to pass 2001 Focus emissions vs the 1998 escort emisions. Also because that engine wasn't offered in the car you put it into, your MTO registration will now be a Hot Rod Registration which also effects your insurance. That's only if you want everything on the up and up. If you don't register it as a Hot Rod with the MTO and insurance and you do get into an accident, you insurance may not cover you.
